Capitalizing on the company’s industry leading mobile suite of dictation and charge capture applications, IQMax announced today their new inpatient mobile clinical results solution. IQRounds will provide care givers with easy, anywhere, anytime access to their inpatients’ clinical results and other pertinent patient data on their PDA.
When physicians make their inpatient rounds, they are typically dependent on a computer workstation or the paper chart to gain access to the most current results and updates from lab tests, radiology results, vitals, input/output, medications, etc. The challenge with workstations and paper charts is their limited accessibility.
While some hospitals have implemented wireless mobile (cart based) workstations and some have placed workstations in each patient room, most have not. These PCs, while enhancing accessibility, are typically bulky and shared between multiple patients and care givers.

Major ASP Mobile Dictation Solution Milestone—Over 1,000,000 Served
December 15th, 2004 | | Posted in General News, IQAnywhere |
The use of PDAs in healthcare continues to significantly outpace the commercial business market with applications ranging from drug reference tools and clinical consult guides to the more complex solutions including patient care results, dictation, charge capture and e-prescribing.
This explosive adoption is reflected by IQMax’s recent announcement that they have processed over one million medical dictations through their IQAnywhere ASP (application solution provider) platform.
Anywhere, anytime access is a primary benefit to the use of PDAs when accessing clinical information and processing the data captured as the result of a patient encounter. With the IQSpeak dictation solution, physicians select their patient from the inpatient rounds list and/or clinic patient schedule and execute the dictation of the encounter results. The voice files along with the patient demographic data is then synchronized (tethered or wirelessly) to the organizations dictation server or third party transcription service through the IQAnywhere ASP.
