Mobile Healthcare Blog | IQMax Announces Implementation of IQSpeak at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, CA
IQMax, Inc., a leading developer and provider of mobile technology solutions for hospitals and ambulatory clinics, announced recently they have implemented their IQSpeak™ product at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinics located in Los Angeles and other Southern California communities. IQSpeak provides Kerlan-Kobe staff orthopaedists and Fellows with mobile technology solutions for dictation, which allows them to practice more effectively while moving between patients in a variety of care settings.
The Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic is a world leader in the diagnosis and treatment of orthopaedic and sports medicine injuries and illnesses. In addition to sports medicine, they specialize in all aspects of orthopaedic care, including the diagnosis and treatment of the spine, shoulder, elbow, knee, hand and foot disorders; orthopaedic trauma; arthritis; total joint replacement; congenital disorders, and work-related injuries.
Their current staff of 18 orthopaedists serves as either team physicians or consultants to virtually all of Southern California’s professional sport teams. This includes the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Mighty Ducks, PGA and Senior PGA Tours, Los Angeles Galaxy, USC Athletic Department, Loyola Marymount University Athletic Department, Los Angeles Sparks and both of the racing tracks at Hollywood Park and Santa Anita.
Kerlan-Jobe Clinic implemented IQMax’s PDA-based dictation solution, as an efficient mobile means of documenting patient encounters at the point of care. Physicians synchronize IQSpeak through a combination of card docking stations and wireless technology installed in the Kerlan-Jobe facilities. During synchronization, patient schedules and associated demographic data are passed to the physician’s PDA and displayed as a schedule on the IQSpeak PDA.
“Their transition to PDA based dictation from telephone and dedicated recorder input devices has resulted in improved work flow efficiencies,” said Paul Adkison, CEO of IQMax. “By merging the patient context data downloaded from their practice management scheduling system to their PDAs with the dictation results of the patient encounter, the turnaround and quality of the transcribed report have been positively impacted,” Mr. Adkison added.
The Kerlan-Jobe Clinic is considering implementation of IQCharge™, the IQMax fast, accurate and intuitive mobile solution for capturing charges in the inpatient and clinic settings. By providing a simple approach for capturing E&M codes and procedures, lost fees become a thing of the past.
