IQMax, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has formed an alliance with Microsoft Corp. to deliver its suite of intelligent, mobile solutions to the healthcare market on the Microsoft technology platform.

IQMax products provide physicians with sophisticated tools that allow them to streamline their workflow, increase productivity, and render better patient care. These solutions include IQChannels for the delivery of rich media and decision support content, IQRounds for clinical information, IQCharge for charge capture and IQSpeak for dictation. Together, these solutions provide caregivers with a powerful set of workflow tools that allow caregivers to render better patient care and reduce medical errors in any healthcare setting, and are built on Microsoft’s Windows Mobile platform.

IQMax’s suite of intelligent, mobile solutions will be showcased and demonstrated at the Microsoft booth at the HIMSS 2007 Conference and Exhibition in New Orleans.

IQChannels, which utilizes technology from Microsoft’s Windows Mobile and Windows Media Player, brings the power of digital media to the physician’s fingertips and the healthcare environment. IQChannels allows organizations to securely manage and deploy rich media content to users on their mobile devices. In the case of a physician, IQChannels allows physicians to view and interact with decision support content, continuing medical education, and medical reference and research content customized for their list of patients.

Take for example, a physician who is seeing a patient with a specific medical condition, IQChannels will deliver customized rich media content specific to that particular patient’s health profile to the physician’s mobile device, allowing the physician to make a much more informed decision on patient care, based on the most up to date research and decision support content.

"Microsoft is pleased to work with IQMax to enable delivery of rich media content and RSS feeds to Windows Mobile devices. The availability of IQChannels on the Windows Mobile platform, coupled with the Microsoft portfolio of software and services, helps healthcare companies of all sizes collaborate and communicate with their employees in a secure and reliable way," said Steve Aylward, general manager of Microsoft’s U.S. Healthcare and Life Sciences Group.

IQChannels seamlessly integrates with IQMax’s other mobile healthcare workflow solutions to provide physicians a powerful set of documentation and clinical information tools on their mobile device with which to render better patient care across any care setting.

IQRounds allows physicians to leverage a facility’s existing clinical information system to securely access critical patient information such as laboratory results, vitals, intake/ output, medications, radiology results, along with other transcribed reports including operative reports and consults on their mobile device. IQRounds can reduce a physician’s pre-rounds preparation time and replaces paper based charting systems to provide patients with improved quality of care and reduced medical errors.

IQCharge streamlines the billing process and reduces lost charges by allowing physicians to capture billable charges on their mobile device. Completed charges and patient demographic data are merged into the billing system through wireless or wired synchronization. Coding and billing occurs with patient data already merged into the charges so back office efficiency is improved and denied claims are reduced.

IQSpeak allows physicians to dictate on their mobile device, allowing the physician to capture dictations whenever and wherever it is most convenient for them. IQSpeak integrates to the leading health information and scheduling systems and provides the physician with a list of patients on the physician’s mobile device. The physician simply selects a patient and begins dictating. The patient data follows the dictation to the transcriptionist and is automatically merged into the medical record document.

IQMax’s mobile healthcare solutions are effective for any facility, whether acute or ambulatory, because IQMax can deliver its solutions in either an ASP environment with IQAnywhere, or as an on-premise installed solution with IQEnterprise. Additionally, the company has extensive experience in integrating with disparate back end clinical information systems.
